About NYC Health + Hospitals
NYC Health + Hospitals is the nation’s largest public healthcare system, treating 1.4 million New Yorkers every year and providing over 70 different locations. New York Health + Hospitals is determined to empower the people in their community to embrace the healthiest of lives.

NYC Health + Hospitals has realized the importance of giving back to the environment. Over the years, they have placed policies on energy efficiency and conservation. Under Mr. Toussaint’s leadership, NYC Health + Hospitals reported a reduction in energy consumption of more than 10 percent system-wide in FY 2016. Price reductions in the cost of fuel and decreased usage combined to produce $21 million in savings for the organization.

An important benefit to the reduction in energy consumption is an accompanying decrease in greenhouse gas emissions. By doing this, NYC Health + Hospitals incurred large savings and also reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 26.41% between the years of 2007 and 2017. They are on track to meet their emissions goal of 80% reduction by 2050.

About the Speaker
Cyril Toussaint currently heads the Energy Management and Sustainability Division in the Office of Facilities Development at NYC Health + Hospitals (NYC H+H). NYC Health + Hospitals is the largest integrated municipal healthcare system in the United States. NYC H+H is a network of eleven (11) hospitals, trauma centers, neighborhood health centers, nursing homes, and post-acute care centers, totaling over 21 million square feet.

Mr. Toussaint is spearheading the implementation and improvement of numerous energy efficiency and operational processes, aimed at ensuring that the Public Health Care System achieves its Mayoral mandate to reduce Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions by 80% by 2050. In September 2017, at the World Energy Engineering Congress in Atlanta, Mr. Toussaint was awarded the Association of Energy Engineer’s (AEE) Region I Energy Manager of the Year for 2017.

Mr. Toussaint received a Master’s degree in Economics from Fordham University, Rose Hill, and his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Guyana.

About the Speakers
Claire Castleman is the Sustainability Technical Leader at Eaton Corporation. In this role, she develops the sustainability strategy of the organization, focused on key performance indicators for environmental footprint reduction, sustainability communication and reporting, employee engagement, and increasing the handprint of Eaton’s product portfolio. She also leverages the expertise of internal functional leads to integrate Eaton’s diverse sustainability activities and initiatives within the organization’s corporate strategy. Prior to this role, Claire worked as a Project Manager and Design Engineer as part of Eaton’s Engineering & Technology Leadership Development Program. Claire has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, and serves on the Board of the Cleveland Climate Action Fund and the Alliance for the Great Lakes.

Richard Gorzé has 20+ years in a diverse spectrum of supply and demand-side energy positions from consulting, manufacturing and utilities, managing energy and carbon at three Fortune 200 companies.
At Eaton Corporation, he manages over $220M in global energy spend for 360+ manufacturing sites, managing the procurement, energy efficiency efforts, and renewable projects. While at Eaton, he has been a key contributor leading sustainability, energy, and greenhouse gas reduction efforts leading to a perfect score of 100 in CDP submittal for two of the last four years and remaining on the leadership index for last four years. In addition, he has led the development of global sustainable/renewable programs by conducting energy/GHG workshops in Asia, Europe, and North America; aided in the development of energy management technology; and led efforts to implement ISO 50001 processes in 5 countries and 20 plants.
Prior to joining Eaton Corporation, he served as NA Energy Manager for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, as consultant, managing the supply-side of electric energy procurement. He has also worked with top utilities in the country, developing technology, leading integration, and addressing business challenges necessary to bring about the Smart Grid AMI/AMR deployments while working at Elster Electricity (former ABB/Westinghouse).

Mr. Gorzé holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Akron with honors, and National Institute of Technology – Electrical Engineering, as well as various other certifications, including CEM, CSDM, CEM–International, and is an active member of the AEE and ISM organizations.

Peter Perrault is a Sustainability Management Certified Professional (SMCP) whose experience spans over a decade working at the nexus of sustainability and technology. He was the first President of the Board of Directors for the Sustainability Management Association, and has “sat on all sides of the table” as a sustainability practitioner within local government, NGOs, and large corporations. Building on those experiences, he took his knowledge and passion for sustainability to the consulting space, making an impact with a wider array of organizations.

At EnerNOC, he is the Sustainability Practice Lead in the Industrial Solutions  group, helping customers develop and achieve sustainability goals through strategy, process optimization, and technology.

Prior to joining EnerNOC, Peter was a Senior Consultant in the Information Solutions group at Environmental Resource Management (ERM), a leading global sustainability consulting firm. He also worked as a Principal Sustainability Consultant focused on sustainability strategy for the Americas with Infosys, a member of Forbes’ Top 100 Innovative Companies list; and previously built and led the global sustainability program for NetApp, a Fortune 1000 company. Peter received a Master’s degree in Economics from University of San Francisco and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics with a minor in Political Science from Humboldt State University.
